TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 3, 2014) – The third annual USF Bulls Walk and Bike Week educational campaign conducted by the University of South Florida's Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) is in full swing. The safety campaign will take place across the USF Tampa campus throughout the week of September 2-5, 2014, with lessons and tips to carry always.
The event aims to promote awareness of pedestrian and bicycle safety with reminders to "Walk Wise, Bike Smart, and Drive Carefully." Bulls Walk and Bike Week is supported by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Traffic Safety Office through the Community Traffic Safety Program Support grant and pedestrian safety grants.
The goal of this event is to promote safety to not only pedestrians and bicyclists, but to motorists as well, with the hope of reducing the numbers of crashes, injuries, and fatalities to zero.
